Would You Rather...Tali's Tag

I feel I've been rather absent from Blogger lately, I think we all go through this from time to time. I go from blogging every day to not blogging for a couple of weeks. Partly because of lack of time, partly because of lack of inspiration. Today I have both so yay!

Today is my boyfriend and I's 4 year anniversary. It's hard to believe it's been that long and I'm glad that we are both still happy. We're going to go out for a meal later to celebrate.

On another celebratory note, I was pleased to see when I logged in today I have 199 followers. I see 200 as quite a milestone, and it doesn't seem that long ago I reached 100. I don't want to be presumptious, but hopefully 200 is just around the corner! I know it sounds cliched, and fake, but I genuinely mean this: I would still blog no matter how many people were reading this, it's my little space on the internet to talk about what I love and I love interacting with those of you that share this interest with me and it just means even more that there's so many of you. Remove all the negativity and this is really a great community.

I thought I'd get back into blogging with a tag as I haven't done one in a while, and I came across Tali's tag that interested me so I'm going to go ahead and do that.

Would you rather...
Never use mascara again or bronzer again?
This is pretty tough, but I would have to lump with giving up the bronzer, at least I could substitute it with blush. There's no substitute to mascara, except maybe false lashes but I couldn't be doing with applying them everyday.
Only be able to buy high end make-up or drugstore make-up again?
I like to mix the two! I'm going to say drug store though, high end is more of a luxury for me than a staple part of my make-up. Most make-up items have a drugstore brand that works really well, I couldn't choose just one drugstore brand though.
Be in love or be loved?
I think I'd rather love. I'm pretty sure if you love something enough it will eventually love you back. I can't imagine not having love for someone!
Go out with chipped nail varnish or unshaven legs?
I could deal with chipped nail varnish, I don't like it and I end up picking at it profusely if I see a chip and I have no access to a bottle of nail varnish remover, but hairy legs are a no-no.
Go out with messy hair or no make-up?
Messy hair all the way. It's not uncommon for me to not brush my hair some mornings.
Leave the house with an orange tan or peroxide-gone-wrong ginger hair?
Orange tan as tacky as it is. I've had bad hair experiences in the past and it makes you so self-conscious, people can notice it from the front, from behind you, your hair is really one of the first things people notice, so at least with orange skin I could try and hide my face a bit.
It were winter forever or summer forever?
Summer summer time! I'm a total sun worshipper, now the days are getting shorter it's increasingly hard to get out of bed, I feel like a flower that curls up without the sun! I'm not a fan of the cold either. I love most things associated with summer though, long days, ice cream, trips to the beach, generally being outside doing things you can't do in the winter.
Have permanent 2 inch roots or permanently unplucked brows?
2 inch roots are OK in my opinion. Unless you have black hair dyed peroxide blonde, bit too much of a contrast. I don't pluck my brows much, I plucked them a lot when I was younger, thankfully not too thin, so the unwanted hair has taken a hint over time and isn't growing back. So neither of these things really bother me.
Leave the house with dried toothpaste drool or crusty yellow sleep eyes?
Dried toothpaste, yellow eyes are pretty disgusting, at least toothpaste is a sign you tried to clean yourself.
Give up all MAC or all Illamasqua products?
Illamasqua, I haven't really jumped on board of the Illamsqua bandwagon yet. I'm quite easily swayed though, so it could happen.
I tag...you! If you want to do it!

Tag! 10 Things I Love.

I was tagged by Laura to do this 10 things I love post, and since I never do these, I really thought it was high time I did. This is a nice one anyway, and easy to think of 10 things I love.
Rules are as follows.

1. Post who gave you this award.

2. State 10 things that you love.

3. Give this award to 10 other bloggers and notify them with a comment.

So firstly, it goes without saying, the people in my life are the most loved things, so maybe cheating a little, I'd like to put my friends, family and boyfriend at number 1.2. Blogging/ writing in general. When I was 5 years old I was asked what I wanted to do when I was older.I remember saying I wanted to be a writer along with the job actually do for a living. I'm glad to say all these years on, I'm still as passionate with both.
3. Guitar. I still can't play mine, but one day it will come. I enjoy learning which is the important part.

4. TEA! All varieties, but green is probably my favourite.
5. Chocolate, because I don't actually know where I'd be without it.
6. The sunshine. I'm so dependent on a bit of sun. I think I could quite happily live somewhere that had permanent sunshine, how can you not smile when the sun is shining?
7. Make-up. Blatantly.
8. Puppies/dogs. Best animal ever. My life will not be complete without one. I'd love a bichon frise/schitzu cross, they're adorable, or maybe a larger dog like a border collie or alsatian. I love cute, small dogs, but I'd like a dog with some intelligence too! I know it's not the right time in my life to get one yet though, but soon I hope.

9. Travelling. There's so many places in the world I want to visit, and so many places I've been that I've loved. I loved visiting Montreal and want to explore Canada a lot more, North America in general, Japan, New Zealand, Italy, anywhere!
10. Creativity. A bit broad I know, but I love designing, making things, whether it be song lyrics, a drawing, clothing, I love creating.

So I tag:

Another Tag

I saw this open tag on lydiaoc's blog so decided to do it. I'm also tagging anybody that wishes to do it!

Whats your favourite makeup look?
I’d probably describe it as a golden smokey eye. Gold toned shadow on the lid, darker brown in the crease, smokey black/dark brown in the outer corner. Brown or black eyeliner, peachy/pink blush and a nude lip. Pretty simple really.

What part of your body do you love?
My waist and hips ratio. Although lately the waist is catching up with the hips...

Who is your beauty icon?
Sienna Miller, I think she’s effortlessly gorgeous, I love the clothes she wears, and she comes across a really nice person too.

What beauty products instantly make you feel sexy?
False eyelashes. They work wonders.

How do you look after your skin?
I use products that work well for me. Angels on Bare Skin facial wash, Simple gentle cleanser/N0.7 Oil balancing cleanser, Simple toner/Lush Tea Tree Water, Simple Light Moisturiser. Eat well, lots of vitamin C (very important for nice skin), and drink lots of water.

What is your signature scent?
Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, although I think I need to update it, I’m maybe getting too old for it now.

What are your hair secrets?
Avoid using heat every single day, try to have some days where I let my hair go natural and do it’s own wild thing, it’s not pretty but hey, neither is damaged hair. Heat protection lotions and potions, Redken Extreme iron repair is pretty good, and I use Aussie 3 minute miracle one to two times a week in place of my normal conditioner. Not really secrets I know, but this is how I care for my hair.

How do you pamper yourself?
Nice long bubble bath usually does the job, with as many Lush products as possible.

What is your pet peeve?
I have a few, but beauty pet peeves would be those god awful hair extensions where it’s really obvious and looks like two hair styles going on. I also don’t like it when girls stop applying their foundation at their jawline, especially when the foundation shade is at least 3 shades darker than their natural skin colour.

What would be your desert island must haves?
A good book, ipod, razor, mascara, large strawhat, pillow, chocolate...

Finally, do you have a beauty philosophy?
I think beauty is the entire package, having flawless make up can make you pretty, but being a good person will make you beautiful.

Honest Scrap Tag

I've been a little out of blogging action recently, so apologies for that firstly, and apologies for doing a tag that went around a week ago, and I didn't even get tagged to do! In fact I've never been tagged I don't think! :( lol. The reason why I've not been blogging is I've been back at my parents house, it was my Mum's birthday, and my parents wedding anniversary so wanted to be around for that. Anyway I'm back home now and I wanted to do this tag because I've read a few people's and think this is a really nice way to tell you a few things about myself.
1. I have had a guitar for 8 years, a present on my 14th birthday, and I still can’t play it. I’ve just brought it up from my parents place though so who knows, I might learn a few chords.
2. I did a degree in American Studies. At school there was never one subject I thought I would like enough at uni to study for three years, so decided on American Studies because I found out I’d be able to study whatever I wanted, literature, history, film studies etc...I also got to spend a year in America which was the happiest year of my life. I met the most amazing people and it still feels like my second home.
3. I moved to London about 3 months ago from the Midlands and I love it, but I don’t see me spending my entire life here, I want to go back and live in the States, Canada or New Zealand!
4. I can get really shy with people I’ve just met which really annoys me and I wish I could be more confident. I would hate to be mistaken for being rude, and when people get to know me, they see my louder chattier side.
5. I’m 22 on the verge of 23 but I’ve always looked a couple of years younger than I actually am. Some people tell me I look even younger. It really bothers me which a lot of people don’t understand, I know I’ll be glad of looking younger when I’m in my thirties, but for now it’s just an annoyance. It’s embarrassing getting ID’d when I’ve been legally able to buy alcohol for nearly 5 years!
6. I decided when I was 5 years old I wanted to be a writer. I didn’t even know at that age that people could make a living from writing novels and articles, I just knew it was what I wanted to do, I’ve always had a vivid imagination and used to write my own “books” and illustrate them! Even now I still want to make a career from writing, in what form, I don’t mind.
7. I’m a fiercely loyal person and will bend over backwards for the people that I love. I don’t know my extended family very well at all, so I feel really close to my immediate family, they, along with my close friends mean the world to me, much more than I let them know.
8. The trait I hate most in a person is rudeness. There’s absolutely no need for it. I’ve worked in customer services in the past and been on the receiving end of some really rude comments for no apparent reason other than they’re nasty people! I think everyone should work in a restaurant/cafe in their lives, it honestly makes you a much better customer knowing what they have to go through.
9. I have an obsession with tea, I think I’ve tried about every variety and like most of it, I honestly don’t think I can function without my morning cup of tea. Strangely I discovered tea in America, not the UK, I started off with coffee but found out I couldn’t drink a lot because it gives me palpitations! Another dream of mine is to open my own tea shop!
10. I can’t drive, and I’m not sure I will ever be able to. I put in for my test once, and failed, and didn’t really get back in to it. I guess I hate the whole being watched while I’m driving, it’s scary enough as it is. If I do ever get a license though, I really want to own a mini. I’m only 5’2” so it’s the perfect size for me!
So there's a little insight to me. I tag anyone else that wants to do it!
